[City] Seoul

Bold and contemporary. Not as refined or as well-defined as Tokyo, but cooler. The sense we got was of a city with incredible creatives pulling in different directions.

One of our favourite moments was an afternoon in Dongdaemun Plaza. In the central square, they had an open to the public. A K-pop song would play for 20 seconds before switching to the next song, anyone who knew the moves could come in and dance.

There were tons of people dancing, and they could dance. Often hip hop can feel a little forced. But they were so good and looked like they were having such a blast that it felt completely natural.

If you haven't been, we would highly recommend it.

Some places to check out:

Anthracite, multi-storey industrial cafe.
Volnost, techno club with seemingly infinite dance floor.
Hyundai Card Music Library, open to the public library with a collection of vinyl records you can request to listen on the spot.

Yours truly,
